Guatemalans give compliments much different than in the States. Example:
ME: "Good morning!"
HEALTH WORKER: "Ah, hello, how are you?"
ME: "Well. And you?"
HEALTH WORKER: "I'm well also. You are getting so FAT!"
ME: "What?!"
HEALTH WORKER: just laughs...
hahahah, sounds like something they would say in Korea. Got to love being in foreign countries.
